A very special moment today, Shri Krishna Janmashtami marks the birth of lord Krsn’a. As a young boy I grew up studying the Hindu mythology and I read a lot about the Lord Krsn’a. What a profound joy it is to watch a baby growing, everything is new to the infant and I am blessed to experience it now.
One of my desires is to ride free and I do not find much time for it, I have a lot of roads on my list where I intend to burn the rubber. Recently I rode to two places in right opposite direction and very short hauls from the city. Ideally few years ago I used to ride for a couple of days, the bike on the highway and the trail ahead has always intrigued me.
So I rode to Mandargiri hills and Revanna Siddeshwara Betta (Betta in Kannada means Rock), both the places had monolithic rocks to ascend and the scenery was very much parallel. At the top of the rock we had sacred temples dating to many hundred years ago, each of them linked to a beautiful story. While Mandargiri Hills is a Jain Heritage, Revanna Siddeshwara has Hindu temples atop a Huge Monolithic rock.
If you are an avid trekker then these places are of interest, you have easy assistance to head at the top with a scenic aerial view of the surroundings. What captivates me is when the times would have been rolled back, how challenging it was for people to access the top but they may have been very determined to preserve the heritage so well. Below are few moments from the ride,
